Backstory: Niklaus is the middle child of a large adoptive family. He was the outcast of the family, based off of who his god parent was. His parents adopted him when he was a toddler, he was claimed at 5, and that's when his troubles began. His adoptive father abused him regularly, which made him the bitter person he is. He was close with his older brother, Elijah, his younger brother, Kol, and his younger sister, Rebekah. He spent most of his days fighting with classmates to prove his strength and manhood. He didn't have a lot of friends growing up, so he spent most days sitting by himself in the library watching everyone else live their lives. When he got into high school, it got worse because he started to get involved with gangs and serious violence. After he turned sixteen, he came home beaten half to death with Elijah carrying him. His mother had had enough and decided it was time for Niklaus to go to camp. That's where he is now.
