"That's a shame. He doesn't realize how lucky he is." Justin said with a light smile. He figured he would just imply until she said it first, just to be safe. But he felt like he knew where this was going because this is how it always worked.

Brae shrugged. "I don't really think so.." she mumbled.

"Brae. Any guy would be lucky to have you." He said. He turned to look at her and tried to smile but the seriousness of the moment kept his face completely straight. He wasn't just talking about any guy. He was talking about him. He would be lucky to have her. He would be lucky to be this mystery crush. Justin continued. "Aphrodite only gives gifts to quite a few people and you're one of those gifts. You're amazing. Don't let anyone tell you you're not."

"The complexity is based off of your overall understanding and knowledge of the spell" He said as he draws a set of runes in the ground with a stick and watches as it glows and ignites in a small greenish flame. "With the flame I have studied the runic alphabet to understand all their meaning which helps as I use a different set I summon from the book" Henry explained as he slowly moved his finger across the book leaving a glowing purple trail in the air above  and once he was finished the fog surrounded the flame and the vanished "the runes for the fog come from the Elder Futhark, Algiz which can mean protection, and Ansuz which can mean wisdom."

Hadley nods, "Alright I think I understand. When you combine ceirtain runes togeather they form the spell desired. But there's something I don't get. What are the layers of the rune's magic? You know sort of how there's elemental magic, combat magic, shadow magic, etc..?"

"Because of how far back the runic system dates it's mainly a form of strong elemental and protection magic" Henry said.

Hadley nods, "Ok makes sense. But how do you make the runes appear? Or do you have to physically have the runes with you to cast a spell?"

"I happens when you infuse magic into your writing, you can also store it my carving it into to something from nature like stone or wood" Henry explained.

"Infuse it in writing? How?"

Brae glanced over at Justin. "Thank you for saying that," she said and leaned over, softly kissing his cheek.

Justin was slightly shocked by her kissing his cheek. Then a smile formed on his face. "Are you- That was-" Nothing he said made an actual full sentence.

Brae grinned. "It was a thank you." she said and pushed her hair out of her face.

"It was... Surprising." Justin said trying to hide the fact that he had feelings for her. He wanted to tell her but he could also tell it wouldn't be reciprocated.

Brae smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder, blushing slightly.

"So about this guy." Justin persisted. "Who is he?"

Brae bit her lip and looked down. "It's Andrew," she mumbled.

Justin nodded and tried not to make the disappointment evident on his face. "Oh really?"

"It's probably never going to happen though," Brae said, shrugging.

"That's a little harder to explain" Henry said as he took a second about it "it takes a lot of focus and energy, think it as taking your magic and forcing it into your writing."

Hadley nods, "Alright. So what type of writing would be needed?"

"You can never be too sure." Justin said.

"The last girl Andrew dated was Mallory. Have you seen how gorgeous Mallory is?" Brae said.

"You're just as beautiful as she is." Justin said.

Brae looked at him. "She's model worthy." Brae said.

"And so are you." Justin said. He smiled at her again.

Brae shook her head with a smile. "You're a goofball," she said to him.
