The Lakeside

Stormie walked along the lake

Dominick picked up a rock and skipped it across the lake.

Stormie walked over and sat with her feet in the water

Dominick didn't even look at the girl.

Stormie sneezed

Dominick didn'tcare.

Stormie began playing wjth the water

Dominick left the lake.

Jay sat down on a log whistling.

Rstormie sat by the water

Jay put on his headphones and looked at the water.

Stormie looked around

Jay hummed as he looked at the water.

Stormie made the waves rise

Jay got up and walked away.

Justin sat down by the lakeside listening to the waves clap against the shore. "What in Hades name did I do to deserve all this?" He whispered. He looked up to sky. "Aphrodite, why have you done this to me?"

Hadley was taking a walk when she saw Justin. She takes a deep breath and walks over. She had to at least attempt to make a friend. "Hey. Mind if I join you?" she asks with a smile.

"Oh. No. Not at all." Justin said. He turned to look at the girl. "I don't think we've met. Justin Henderson, son of Zeus."

Hadley nodded, "Hadley Carter, daughter of Hecate. " She says as she sits down. "I might not be the most social of demigods, but can spot someone down in the dumps a mile away. You wanna talk?" She says sincerely, but playfully.

"Aphrodite has been playing games with me for the past couple years." Justin said.

"How so?" she asks curiously.

"I had a crush on a girl named Emma for a couple years and she never really liked me back and chose someone else over me. No big deal, it happens. I eventually moved on. Then this girl came into the picture, Hannah. And the whole thing was like Aphrodite lifting me up and sending me back down as if I'm a basketball being dribbled. We talked a couple times. Her, myself and this other guy, and then we went out on a date. One thing led to another and we kissed. It was the best kiss I've ever had in my life... I felt sparks. I felt a true connection. Then, she chooses the other guy instead of me and that got to me... And it still does." Justin sighed. He was starting to cry recalling all of it.

Hadley nodded, "Well even though, I cant really relate to your situation, I can tell you this. You are going to hurt. People you like wont like you back, or they sometimes need to think things out on their own. It happens. And sometimes you feel like the gods have it in for you. Been there, done that. But you know what? There is always something to follow if you look hard enough. You seem like a really sweet guy, and be honest, your kind of cute too. I'm not very attractive, so I don't stand out to others, but you are. Some one is bound to notice you, if they haven't already. Take it from someone who is basically a shadow." She says with an awkward smile as she unknowingly blushes a bit.

Justin blushed at her compliment. "Thank you. But someone noticing me isn't enough. I want her to notice me..."

Hadley took a deep breath, "Look. She probably has, but is just confused. If you were in her situation, where 2 girls are both interested in you, and you really like both of them, how would you handle it?"
