I'm sure none of you will disagree with me when I say that I want my posts to be the best they can be before I publish them. However, this is a problem I've seen around the site, with not just one or two people, but with
everyone.
This has never been officially addressed, but everyone on this site role-plays with one-liners, which is basically a post with one sentence. This isn't necessarily a problem, but it becomes a problem when people publish two or three-word posts.
Ex: "Yeah," Viridian replied.Ex: Tara nodded.Again, this isn't necessarily a problem, but I see it
all the time.Another thing I've noticed is that people seem to be afraid to break this one-liner thing. Don't be afraid to publish posts that are a paragraph, two paragraphs long.
Please put some effort into your posts.
Please put some effort into your posts. Please put some effort into your posts.Even if you're too lazy to type posts that are two paragraphs long, that's fine. You don't have to. Two paragraphs is extreme, I know.
But at least try to lengthen your posts a little so that they're not two or three words. Here are some suggestions on how to do that:
- Elaborate your character's thoughts.
- Give a little backstory.
- Bring another character in and make the two characters talk.
Be creative! These aren't the only ways to lengthen posts, and remember:
Quality, not quantity.Have a rainbow sheep.
